When installed on a computer, BUYBLOCK prevents a user from entering personal information, such as name, address, social security number, login information, etc.

on any website. However, to enable users to utilize the Internet for information gathering purposes, it does allow for the use of search and other benign functions. This patent-pending software has the ability to identify fields requesting personal information on any web site in real-time and locks them, thereby preventing the user from entering any information. The types of actions that can be prevented include: Making unapproved purchases; Logging into personal accounts without prior approval; Posting information on any unapproved websites; Signing up for (and logging into) chat-rooms, blog sites, and social networks, where children are highly targeted by Internet predators. The software can be easily activated or deactivated using a customer-created username and password. In addition, the software has an Unblock Sites feature which allows the owner to specify Approved websites that should not be blocked while the software is activated.
BUYBLOCK works in conjunction with existing parental controls, requires no monitoring by the owner, and can only be uninstalled with a username and password. The product currently works with Internet Explorer and AOL browsers.
